When designing, I create a story that connects research and poetical thinking to stimulate users’ emotional experience in the space. This entails evoking physical and mental comfort to create a memorable experience for users to revisit. These emotional experiences are illustrated through forms, materiality, and colors of the space.
This is reflected in my thesis project, Soothe, a mental health center that heals young adults through a sequential narrative that stimulates different emotions and senses. This is achieved by connecting them to the exterior through daylight, natural soundscape, and different aroma in order to create a relaxing and comfortable environment for the users.
